Hallucinogen - Blut Aus Nord (2019)

Tredicesimo album per la band francese (con nome tedesco ma, come recitano alcune bio, non corretto grammaticamente, forse perché riferito al gergo navale), una band che tende a rendere ogni traccia molto teatrale (mediante l'uso di cori quasi ecclesiastici), se riuscite a capire cosa intendo. Il loro stile è, come spesso accade, un mix di generi heavy metal, che crea un ibrido a volte spiazzante, con un certo fascino decadente. Black metal, un po' di industrial, qualcuno ci sente un poco di avant-garde, personalmente ci riconosco tocchi medievali ed epic, e naturalmente un uso delle chitarre alla NWOBHM. A livello tematico si dichiarano vicini al culto della terra, un po' come i Wolves in the Throne Room, ma certamente possono piacere più a chi ama sentire metal estremo, ma con un retrogusto âgée.

Thirteenth album for the French band (with German name but, as some bio say, incorrect grammatically, perhaps because it refers to naval jargon), a band that tends to make every track very theatrical (through the use of almost ecclesiastical choirs), if you can understand what I mean. Their style is, as often happens, a mix of heavy metal genres, which creates a hybrid that is sometimes unsettling, with a certain decadent charm. Black metal, a bit of industrial, some can heard in it a bit of avant-garde, personally I recognize medieval and epic touches, and of course a use of NWOBHM guitars. On a thematic level they declare themselves close to the cult of the earth, a bit like Wolves in the Throne Room, but certainly they can please those who love to hear extreme metal, but with an âgée aftertaste.
