Parto intanto col fare ammenda: come leggerete nei commenti ai due album precedenti, il conteggio degli album in studio della band norvegese, era evidentemente errato. Detto questo, i Dimmu Borgir sono al decimo album in studio, e come forse saprete, il loro non è esattamente il mio genere preferito, nell'ambito metal, ma ogni tanto lo ascolto con piacere. Il disco è ben prodotto, con ottimi suoni. Forse un po' troppo lungo, e con qualche brano dimenticabile, si fanno ancora apprezzare quando intrecciano il black metal con gli arrangiamenti sinfonici e anche quando introducono strumenti o suoni non propriamente metal.
Let me start by making amends: as you will see in the comments on the previous two albums, the count of the Norwegian band's studio albums was clearly incorrect. That said, Dimmu Borgir are now on their tenth studio album; and while—as you may know—this isn't exactly my favorite subgenre of metal, I do enjoy listening to them from time to time. The record is well-produced, with excellent sound quality. Although perhaps a bit too long and containing a few forgettable tracks, the band still shines when they blend black metal with symphonic arrangements, or even when they introduce instruments and sounds not typically associated with metal.
