Settimo disco in studio per la band di Chicago, Illinois, secondo dopo la pausa che si sono presi dal 2011 al 2015 (abitudine sempre più frequente nelle band, del tutto comprensibile per il mondo musicale odierno). Ora, devo dire onestamente che la band non è mai stata tra le mie preferite, ed è difficile spiegare il perché. Fatto sta che tutte le loro caratteristiche, quelle che non mi piacciono, potete ritrovarle in questo nuovo Evolution, che quindi è un disco assolutamente non brutto, ma che non riesce a coinvolgermi. Ballate stucchevoli, pezzi ritmati con quell'andamento nu metal che non si sopporta più, e soprattutto, la voce di David Draiman, esageratamente teatrale. Quest'ultima è forse l'elemento che a me impedisce di digerire tutto il resto; in effetti, la tecnica è impeccabile, voce compresa. E' quindi l'elemento emozionale, che mi impedisce di apprezzare fino in fondo questa band, che sono sicuro, a molti piacerà.
Seventh studio album for the band from Chicago, Illinois, second after the break that took place from 2011 to 2015 (more and more frequent in bands, completely understandable for today's musical world). Now, I have to honestly say that the band has never been one of my favorites, and it's hard to explain why. The fact is that all their characteristics, those that I do not like, you can find them in this new Evolution, which is therefore a record absolutely not bad, but that fails to involve me. Nauseating ballads, tracks punctuated with that nu metal trend that I can't no longer bears, and above all, the voice of David Draiman, exaggeratedly theatrical. The latter is perhaps the element that prevents me from digesting everything else; in fact, the technique is impeccable, including the vocal one. It is therefore the emotional element, which prevents me from fully appreciating this band, which I am sure, many will like it.
