Settimo disco in studio per la band di Orange County, California, il secondo dopo la riunione che è seguita allo iato che si sono presi dal 2011 al 2014. Non li avevo mai ascoltati, e non so come mai, dal nome mi aspettavo qualcosa di più pesante. Invece, più volte mi sono ritrovato a pensare ai Papa Roach; siamo infatti di fronte al più classico dei metalcore, tantissime aperture melodiche, pochi cantati urlati, begli assoli di chitarra, suono corposo e discreto songwriting. Un disco che si fa ascoltare senza picchi particolari, ma anche senza cadute rovinose. Chiude il disco (nella versione standard) Super Hero, addirittura con dei fiati, e la partecipazione di altri due cantanti, Aaron Gillespie degli Underoath, e M. Shadows degli Avenged Sevenfold.
Seventh studio album for the band from Orange County, California, the second after the reunion that followed the hiatus that took place from 2011 to 2014. I had never listened to them, and I do not know why, I expected something heavier, from the name. Instead, several times I found myself thinking of the Papa Roach; we are in fact in front of the most classic of metalcore, many melodic openings, a few screamed chants, beautiful guitar solos, full-bodied sound and discreet songwriting. A record that is heard without particular peaks, but also without ruinous falls. Closes the album (in the standard version) Super Hero, even with the horns, and the participation of two other singers, Aaron Gillespie from Underoath, and M. Shadows from Avenged Sevenfold.
