Thomas, 29 anni, passa quasi tutte le notti in discoteca e le giornate dormendo. Stanco di questa situazione, suo padre chirurgo, il dottor Reinhard, decide di non dargli più soldi. Gli chiede anche di prendersi cura di uno dei suoi giovani pazienti. Marcus, 12 anni, che vive solo con la madre Maissa, soffre di una grave malattia ed è affetto da molteplici disabilità. La sua vita è scandita dalla quotidianità in un centro di accoglienza medica e dai frequenti ricoveri in ospedale.
Ispirato ad un libro tedesco, Dieses bescheuerte Herz: Über den Mut zu träumen di Lars Amend e Daniel Meyer (2013), e già portato sullo schermo proprio in Germania (Dieses bescheuerte Herz, ne parleremo), film pieno di buoni sentimenti e al tempo stesso, romanzo di formazione, ma fin troppo prevedibile e poco incisivo.
Inspired by a German book, Dieses bescheuerte Herz: Über den Mut zu träumen by Lars Amend and Daniel Meyer (2013), and already brought to the screen in Germany (Dieses bescheuerte Herz, we'll talk about it), a film full of good feelings and at the same time itself, a Bildungsroman, but all too predictable and not very incisive.
