Nonostante io, e probabilmente qualcun altro, li avesse persi di vista, pare che gli inglesissimi Prodigy siano vivi e vegeti, e, sempre per usare metafore mediche, da questo settimo album in studio, godano di buona salute. No Tourists è stato da molti recensori presentato come il disco che ricorda a tutti quanti che i Prodigy avevano capito tutto vent'anni fa, con The Fat of the Land, sia a livello musicale che di liriche, intravedendo il crepuscolo della civiltà. Mi pare personalmente un po' esagerato, ma magari sbaglio. Quel che sento io, ascoltando questo nuovo disco, al quale seguirà un tour, è che evidentemente il genere Big Beat può ancora essere godibile, e sicuramente ha influenzato molte band, anche metal, negli ultimi venti anni. Naturalmente, se c'è una mente sapiente come quella di Liam Howlett, è molto probabile che i dischi siano piacevoli all'ascolto, e che spesso si riesca a trovare degli anthem che finiscono per potersi cantare anche sotto la doccia. Collaborazioni con Ho99o9, Barns Courtney e Brother Culture, campionamenti vari e interessanti, e dieci tracce che spaccano decisamente: possono riempire una pista da ballo così come (provato recentemente) far ondeggiare migliaia di teste prima di un concerto metal.
Although I, and probably someone else, had lost sight of them, it seems that the English band of The Prodigy are alive and well, and, always to use medical metaphors, from this seventh studio album, they enjoy good health. No Tourists has been presented by many reviewers as the record that reminds everyone that The Prodigy had understood everything twenty years ago, with The Fat of the Land, both on a musical and lyric level, glimpsing the twilight of civilization. I think personally this read is a bit exaggerated, but maybe I'm wrong. What I hear, listening to this new record, which will be followed by a tour, is that obviously the genre Big Beat can still be enjoyable, and certainly has influenced many bands, even metal, in the last twenty years. Of course, if there is a wise mind like that of Liam Howlett, it is very likely that the records are pleasant to listen, and that often you can find anthem that end up being able to sing even in the shower. Collaborations with Ho99o9, Barns Courtney and Brother Culture, various and interesting samples, and ten tracks that rocks, decisively: they can fill a dance floor as well as (recently tested) makes waver thousands of heads before a metal concert.
