Curioso album collaborativo in studio, questo Lux Prima. Autori, Karen O degli Yeah Yeah Yeahs, che ha già debuttato come solista con Crush Songs nel 2014, e Danger Mouse (Gnarls Barkley, Broken Bells, Danger Doom e moltissimi lavori come produttore con gli artisti più disparati). Il risultato a volte ricorda i Portishead meno cupi e più pop (Ministry, Redeemer, Drown, Reveries, Nox Lumina, Lux Prima), altre volte un pop più aperto e solare (Turn the Light), altre ancora pesca più direttamente in quelle che sembrano outtakes degli YYY (Woman, Leopard's Tongue). Disco piacevole, esperimento interessante, ma piuttosto "leggero".
Pretty curious collaborative studio album, this Lux Prima. Authors, Karen O of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, who has already debuted as a soloist with Crush Songs in 2014, and Danger Mouse (Gnarls Barkley, Broken Bells, Danger Doom and a lot of work as a producer with many different artists). The result sometimes recalls the Portishead, less gloomy and more pop (Ministry, Redeemer, Drown, Reveries, Nox Lumina, Lux Prima), sometimes a more open and solar pop (Turn the Light), others still more directly in those that they look like YYY's outtakes (Woman, Leopard's Tongue). Pleasant album, interesting experiment, but rather "light".
