Giudizio sintetico: si può vedere (2,5/5)
La storia della glam metal band statunitense dei Motley Crue, a partire dal 1973, anno in cui Frank Carlton Feranna Jr. (che poi diventerà Nikki Sixx) se ne va di casa a 15 anni, per sfuggire ad una madre alcolista e a vari patrigni maneschi, per cercare la sua strada nel mondo, e con il sogno di diventare una rockstar, fino allo show finale tenutosi il 31 dicembre del 2015.
Aspettavo con curiosità l'uscita su Netflix di questo film biografico, tratto dal libro The Dirt: Confessions of the World's Most Notorious Rock Band, scritto da Neil Strauss insieme ai quattro componenti originali della band: per quanto male potesse essere realizzato, sicuramente ci sarebbe stato da divertirsi. In effetti ci si diverte, seppure si debba fare i conti con la parte moralista/educativa. La regia di Tremaine (Jackass) riesce a differenziarlo, tanto per farvi un esempio, dal ridicolo Rock Star, e per chi, come me, li ha visti dal vivo anche prima che diventassero famosissimi, è un buon amarcord. Il cast non è del tutto indovinato, ma sicuramente, a parte David Costabile (nella parte di Doc McGhee, il manager della band) sempre impeccabile, la miglior figura la fa Machine Gun Kelly/Colson Baker nella parte di Tommy Lee.
I was curiously awaiting the release on Netflix of this biographical film, taken from the book The Dirt: Confessions of the World's Most Notorious Rock Band, written by Neil Strauss together with the four original members of the band: no matter how badly it could have been realized, surely there would be enough to have fun. In fact, it is fun, even if we have to deal with the moralistic/educational part. The direction of Tremaine (Jackass) manages to differentiate it, just to give you an example, from the ridiculous Rock Star, and for those who, like me, saw them live even before they became famous, is a good amarcord. The cast is not entirely guessed, but surely, apart from David Costabile (in the part of Doc McGhee, the manager of the band) always impeccable, the best performance is that one of Machine Gun Kelly/Colson Baker as Tommy Lee.
