Il terzo album della band australiana arriva dopo l'improvvisa morte del giovanissimo chitarrista solista Ryan Siew, musicista che sicuramente lascerà un vuoto nel gruppo. Purtroppo, quella che nella recensione del loro secondo disco avevo definito "paragone ingombrante" (la loro somiglianza con gli Architects), in questo terzo lavoro si conferma persistente, e definitivamente castrante. E' impossibile ascoltarli senza pensare alla band inglese, e al percorso musicale che hanno costruito, ed è veramente difficile trovare uno sprazzo di originalità in questo Fatalism. Purtroppo, le similitudini sono andate oltre, fino alla morte di uno dei componenti, ma questa è un'altra storia.

The Australian band's third album arrives after the sudden death of the very young lead guitarist Ryan Siew, a musician who will surely leave a void in the group. Unfortunately, what in the review of their second album I had defined as a "cumbersome comparison" (their similarity with Architects), in this third work is confirmed as persistent, and definitively castrating. It's impossible to listen to them without thinking of the English band, and the musical path they have built, and it's really difficult to find a glimmer of originality in this Fatalism. Unfortunately, the similarities went further, until the death of one of the members, but that's another story.
