Ed eccoci a parlare degli australiani di Sydney Polaris, qui al loro secondo lavoro, dopo che in molti, me compreso, se li persero in questa occasione. Curiosamente, o forse no, il primo paragone, anche piuttosto ingombrante, che viene fatto ascoltando il loro metalcore, è quello degli Architects. Struttura delle tracce e attitudine molti simili, una delle differenze che si apprezzano sono gli sparuti ma importanti soli di chitarra, che rivelano una forte influenza delle NWOBHM, almeno sul chitarrista solista Ryan Siew (che si unì alla band nel 2013 alla tenera età di 15 anni). Suono massiccio, grinta, belle melodie. Vista la giovane età di tutta la band (il nucleo si è messo insieme nel 2012 dopo una "battle of the bands" del loro liceo), immagino avranno tempo per emanciparsi dalle influenze e far uscire la loro personalità.

Structure of the tracks and many similarity, one of the differences that we can appreciate are the sparing but important guitar solos, which reveal a strong influence of the NWOBHM, at least on the solo guitarist Ryan Siew (who joined the band in 2013 at the tender age of 15 years). Massive sound, grit, beautiful melodies. Given the young age of the whole band (the core got together in 2012 after a battle of the bands in their high school), I imagine they will have time to free themselves from the influences and let their personality out.
