Band di giovanissimi provenienti dal Tennessee, i Knoll sono cresciuti in maniera esponenziale nel percorso che li ha portati a questo loro terzo album in studio. Formatisi nel 2017, debuttano nel 2021 con Interstice e proseguono nel 2022 con Metempiric. Il confine della loro musica è da una parte un grindcore proveniente dall'hardcore, dall'altra un death metal oscuro e claustrofobico, con una spruzzata di noise che spesso sconfina nel free jazz. Tutto questo, condito da liriche che parlano di esoterismo, morte, occultismo e horror astratto, si è affinato in questi anni, a dispetto, ribadisco, della giovane età della band, fino a diventare una straordinaria arma di distruzione di orecchi. Un album di una violenza inaudita, ma ugualmente affascinante.
A band of very young people from Tennessee, Knoll have grown exponentially in the path that led them to this, their third studio album. Formed in 2017, they debut in 2021 with Interstice and continue in 2022 with Metempiric. The border of their music is on the one hand a grindcore coming from hardcore, on the other a dark and claustrophobic death metal, with a splash of noise that often borders on free jazz. All this, seasoned with lyrics that speak of esotericism, death, occultism and abstract horror, has refined itself in recent years, despite, I repeat, the young age of the band, to the point of becoming an extraordinary weapon of destruction of ears. An album of unprecedented violence, but equally fascinating.
