No pain. The world is a wonderful whisper for those who can listen, if necessary in silence.

Sunn O))) + The Secret, TPO Bologna, sabato 25 gennaio 2020

Aprono i friulani The Secret, per me una sorpresa, e da me apprezzati.

The stage is simple, a couple of keyboards and many, many amps, with low lights, the smoke from dry ice begins, and a pseudo-oriental chant, with a female voice reminiscent of Buddhist mantras. It goes on like this for over half an hour, going as far as the start of the concert, until the smoke now blinds the audience. Finally here is O'Malley and Anderson, accompanied by three musicians (you can only guess everything, but obviously you can hear it), and an infinite drone begins, with a variation on the theme, the trombone graft towards the middle of the concert. Over an hour and a half of vibrations that resemble an earthquake (the structure and acoustics of the venue, now a place of worship and to which I want to send a thank you for the pearls that allowed us to see, but certainly not the best for this type of sound-sensorial experience), to describe which you don't need to write the set list or try to use a long list of adjectives, metaphors, or words that try to paint emotions: the Sunn O)))) should be seen at least once in your life, live, perhaps clearing your mind of thoughts (damn it's raining, I have to drive for 2 and a half hours home and it's late), letting your body also "live" this experience, a bit like when you start watching a Lynch movie.
