Senza troppi giri di parole, il riassunto del manifesto "intellettuale" è tutto qui, e non è poco, seppure questi primi anni del XXI secolo ci abbiano abituato a icone pop donne che puntano sul girl power. Per chiudere il discorso dal punto di vista concettuale, ricordiamoci sempre che la splendida Dua Lipa è una 24enne che non ha paura di schierarsi, di prendere posizioni anche scomode (chiedere ai serbi). Parliamo un poco di musica: non era certo facile dare un seguito all'esplosivo debutto del 2017, una raccolta di dodici pezzi tutti potenzialmente spendibili come singoli. Eppure, seppure non mi senta di dire che in questo Future Nostalgia non ci siano filler o pezzi non all'altezza dei migliori (Love Again, Levitating), si capisce che il lavoro fatto è grande, e che all'interno del pop ballabile, il discorso musicale che Dua porta avanti è una sorta di modernizzazione professionale di tutte le più grandi influenze disco della storia, ai livelli dei migliori lavori di Madonna o Kylie Minogue. Detto tutto questo, la sua voce rimane impressionante.

To end the discussion from a conceptual point of view, we must always remember that the splendid Dua Lipa is a 24 year old who is not afraid to take sides, to take even uncomfortable positions (ask the Serbs). Let's talk a little about music: it was certainly not easy to follow up on the explosive debut of 2017, a collection of twelve tracks all potentially expendable as singles. Yet, even if I don't feel like saying that in this Future Nostalgia there are no fillers or tracks not up to the best (Love Again, Levitating), it is clear that the work done is great, and that within the danceable pop, the musical discourse that Dua carries on is a sort of professional modernization of all the greatest disco influences in history, at the levels of the best works of Madonna or Kylie Minogue. Having said all this, her voice remains impressive.
