Terzo disco per Ashley Nicolette Frangipane aka Halsey, virgulto musicale che merita il nostro rispetto per il suo impegno al di fuori dal campo musicale, nonostante la sua giovane età (25). Il terzo disco dimostra la volontà di allargare il punto di vista pop, includendo generi disparati ed artisti dai background differenti: per curiosità, divertitevi a leggere la lista del personale, e i crediti. Il sottile concept è la sua lotta contro il disturbo bipolare, ed è ovviamente onnipresente quella per l'emancipazione femminile senza la mortificazione della femminilità stessa. La voce la conosciamo quasi tutti, bella e versatile, quindi gli esperimenti vanno tutti a buon fine, la ragazza è una brava compositrice e si fa aiutare dall'usuale lunghissimo elenco di co-autori di alto livello, i duetti (tre) sono brevi e "relegati" ad essere catalogati come interludi, ma sono interessanti, come interessanti sono le scelte dei due dialoghi cinematografici inclusi come campionamenti. Ci sono tutte le potenzialità per avere grande successo e fare anche qualcosa di ancor più coraggioso. Il tempo è dalla sua parte: staremo alla finestra.
Third album for Ashley Nicolette Frangipane aka Halsey, a musical bud that deserves our respect for her commitment outside the musical field, despite her young age (25). The third work demonstrates the desire to broaden the pop point of view, including disparate genres and artists from different backgrounds: out of curiosity, have fun reading the staff list, and the credits. The subtle concept is her fight against bipolar disorder, and obviously the one for female emancipation without the mortification of femininity itself is omnipresent. We know almost everybody her voice, beautiful and versatile, so the experiments are all successful, the girl is a good composer and gets help from the usual long list of high-level co-authors, the duets (three) are short and "relegated" to be categorized as interludes, but they are interesting, as interesting is the choice of the samples of a couple of movie dialogue. There is all the potential to be very successful and also do something even more courageous. Time is on its side: we will stay at the window.
