No pain. The world is a wonderful whisper for those who can listen, if necessary in silence.

Stay Close to Music - Mykki Blanco (2022)

Mykki Blanco's latest studio album disappointed me a bit, I have to be honest: I managed (I think) to understand some of its greatness, and I was expecting great things. There are those, like Damien Morris in The Guardian, who blame the comings and goings of guests: Jonsi, Michael Stipe, Anohni, Saul Williams and other lesser-known guests. Maybe he's right, even if not entirely: the complex seems a bit out of focus, I don't know how to explain it better. Excessively verbose, albeit in its versatility. For those who are unfamiliar, we are from the hip hop side, but classy and, above all, made by a transgender person with lyrical themes that openly speak of homophobia, transphobia, AIDS/HIV and similar frivolities. Still, more can be given.
