Abbiamo parlato più volte di Vegard Sverre Tveitan aka Ihsahn, dalle fredde terre norvegesi. Qui al suo ottavo album solista, conferma di avere come stella polare l'impresa di portare il black metal ad un livello non dico superiore, ma senza dubbio, diverso. Fiati, archi, sottofondi cinematografico-orchestrali, growl/scream alternato a cantato pulito, aperture melodiche, attacchi frontali, strutture progressive. Tutto affascinante. Davvero interessante, e senza dubbio, d'avanguardia.
We have talked several times about Vegard Sverre Tveitan aka Ihsahn, from the cold Norwegian lands. Here on his eighth solo album, he confirms that his guiding star is the undertaking of bringing black metal to a level that is not necessarily superior, but undoubtedly different. Wind instruments, strings, cinematic-orchestral backgrounds, growl/scream alternating with clean singing, melodic openings, frontal attacks, progressive structures. All fascinating. Really interesting, and without a doubt, avant-garde.
