Secondo EP nel giro di pochi mesi da parte di Ihsahn, sulla stessa falsariga del precedente Telemark: tre tracce originali, molto soft, e due cover, sorprendenti: Roads dei Portishead, e Manhattan Skyline degli A-Ha; su quest'ultima, ospite alla voce Einar Solberg del Leprous (come già segnalato precedentemente, i due sono cognati e compaesani), una prestazione complessiva da brividi. Inutile soffermarsi sulla "lontananza" dello stile di questo (e del precedente) EP rispetto a quel che ci si aspetta dal musicista norvegese, sappiamo che ne è capace, e mi viene in mente la mutazione subita e voluta dai connazionali Ulver (sulla title track noterete le somiglianze). Un disco del genere è semplicemente l'ennesima dimostrazione del fatto che, se c'è ancora chi snobba il metal e tutti i suoi sottogeneri, ha sbagliato tutto, se non nella vita, quantomeno nel campo musicale.
Second EP in a few months by Ihsahn, along the same lines as the previous Telemark: three original tracks, very soft, and two surprising covers: Roads by Portishead, and Manhattan Skyline by A-Ha; on the latter, guest at the voice Einar Solberg of Leprous (as previously indicated, the two are brothers-in-law and fellow villagers), a thrilling overall performance. It is useless to dwell on the "remoteness" of the style of this (and the previous) EP compared to what is expected from the Norwegian musician, we know that he is capable of it, and the mutation suffered and wanted by his compatriots Ulver (on Pharos, the song, you will noticed the resemblance) comes to mind. A record like this is simply the umpteenth demonstration of the fact that, if there are still those who snub metal and all its subgenres, he understood everything wrong, if not in life, at least in the musical field.
