Album di debutto molto godibile, questo per la band di Cincinnati, Ohio. Un quartetto con basso, due chitarre e batteria, dove cantano in tre, e si alternano clean ed unclean vocals, e quella pulita è femminile. Curioso il fatto che le due recensioni che ne ho letto siano agli antipodi (una dice che è un disco superfluo, l'altra dice che è un disco che cambia la situazione). La verità sta in mezzo, come spesso accade: c'è del grunge, dello shoegaze, del post-hardcore, e spesso alla fine pare di ascoltare del metalcore senza parti in doppia cassa, ingentilito e quasi romanticizzato sia dalle liriche che dalla voce gradevolissima di Sarah Tolley.
Very enjoyable debut album, this one from the band from Cincinnati, Ohio. A quartet with bass, two guitars and drums, where three of them sing, and clean and unclean vocals alternate, and the clean one is female. It's curious that the two reviews I read of it are polar opposites (one says it's a superfluous record, the other says it's a record that changes the situation). The truth lies in the middle, as often happens: there is grunge, shoegaze, post-hardcore, and often in the end it seems like you are listening to metalcore without parts in blast beat, refined and almost romanticized both by the lyrics and by the very pleasant voice by Sarah Tolley.
