Red Before Black - Cannibal Corpse (2017)

I never told you about the band from Buffalo, New York, here at their fourteenth album since 1990, one of the bands that invented death metal, or at least among the first to practice it, bands that appeared, maybe you remember them, in Ace Ventura - Pet Detective. The Cannibal Corpse have had a hard life, accused, for their lyrics and their gore covers, from US politics, censored in Australia, in Germany, even in Russia, where in 2014 they were prevented from playing 6 of the 8 shows expected due to protests by activists of the Orthodox Church. In fact, they are very normal people, they share the love for splatter films and bloody stories.
Returning to talk about music, the fourteenth disc, as mentioned, reminds us that if there were no Slayer there would not be many metal bands, and that a record of the Cannibal Corpse is a good background to train or to vent anger in a non-violent manner . The record is impeccable at a technical and stylistic level, powerful, bad, and the fact that the band members are close to 50 years does not damage the validity of the work, indeed, you can appreciate the maturity, the experience, the accumulation of influences. In case someone asks you "what is death metal?", you could just make him listen to "Red Before Black", and no music expert would have anything to say about it.
