Il terzo album della band proveniente da Warren County, New Jersey, è una interessante mazzata deathcore con curiose (almeno per me che non mi considero un esperto di questo genere) aperture sinfoniche. La storia, seppur breve, della band, non è delle più lineari: a parte avere una lista di nove ex componenti in 10 anni, solo negli ultimi tempi, la band ha licenziato il cantante CJ McCreery, che da poco più di un anno aveva rimpiazzato il fondatore Tom Barber, uscito per entrate nei Chelsea Grin, e che è autore delle parti vocali su questo Immortal, per accuse di presunti abusi sessuali ai danni della sua ex fidanzata (ed altre donne che si sono poi unite alla denuncia). Detto questo, in attesa che la band confermi o meno Will Ramos (Monument of a Memory, A Wake in Providence) alla voce nella formazione definitiva e non come sostituto in tour, questo disco provvederà a mantenervi belli svegli e a darvi una bella iniezione di adrenalina.
The third album of the band from Warren County, New Jersey, is an interesting deathcore blow, with curious (at least for me who do not consider myself an expert of this genre) symphonic openings. The story, albeit short, of the band, is not the most linear: apart from having a list of nine former members in 10 years, only in recent times, the band has fired the singer CJ McCreery, who for a little over a year had replaced the founder Tom Barber (who came out to join Chelsea Grin), and who is the author of the vocal parts on this Immortal, for accusations of alleged sexual abuse against his ex-girlfriend (and other women who later joined the complaint). That being said, waiting for the band to confirm Will Ramos (Monument of a Memory, A Wake in Providence) on vocals in the official lineup and not as a substitute on tour, this record will keep you awake and give you a good injection of adrenaline.
