RTJ4 - Run the Jewels (2020)

Vi ho già detto più volte che l'hip hop, pur non essendo esattamente il genere musicale della mia vita, mi ha sempre interessato; detto ciò, non mi sento un esperto, ma ne ho ascoltato molto. Quello che potremo definire moderno, non mi entusiasma più di tanto. Questo non giustifica il fatto che fossi arrivato fino ad oggi senza mai ascoltare i Run the Jewels, duo "misto" (un bianco e un nero) considerato, vista l'esperienza di Killer Mike e El-P, un supergruppo hip hop. Faccio ammenda e dico che questo disco è molto vicino ad una bomba. Influenze di Cypress Hill, Beastie Boys, Wu-Tang Clan, Public Enemy, un flow pazzesco, due voci che si completano perfettamente, testi arrabbiati e socialmente-politicamente impegnati, e grandi tracce. Suono moderno che pesca dalle influenze succitate, gusto melodico insieme a grinta e suoni duri. Nomi importanti che contribuiscono alla composizione, ed ospiti illustri: Greg Nice, Dj Premier, 2 Chainz, Mavis Staples, Josh Homme, Pharrell Williams e Zack de la Rocha. Disco hip hop veramente top.

Modern sound that draws from the aforementioned influences, melodic taste together with grit and harsh sounds. Really top hip hop album.
