Tutto vero, probabilmente anche il fatto che dal vivo sia insuperabile (non ho mai avuto il piacere): energia e passione da vendere, funk, hip-hop, soul, rock and blues senza dimenticare il gospel, mescolati insieme con testi ben piantati nel presente. Prince e Sly Stone, ma pure Stevie Wonder, James Brown e perfino Aerosmith, tutto questo serve indicativamente per descrivere la musica di Xavier Amin Dphrepaulezz in arte Fantastic Negrito, nato in Massachusetts da una famiglia numerosa di origine somala, il padre musulmano strettamente osservante e severo, qui al suo quarto album (in realtà sarebbe il quinto, se si conta anche The X Factor del 1996, a nome Xavier), che arriva a due anni di distanza dal precedente Please Don't Be Dead, vincitore di un Grammy e album che lo ha aiutato ad essere conosciuto un po' dappertutto. Voce versatile e coinvolgente, il tutto ai miei orecchi suona un po' tutto già sentito, il che non mi fa gridare al miracolo. Tutt'altro che un brutto disco, intendiamoci: a mio modesto parere, manca un poco di personalità.
