Il nono (e come sottolineano i più attenti, settimo a livello internazionale, vi ricordate che i primi due album di Alanis uscirono a livello solo canadese, e la vedevano alle prese con una dance-pop piuttosto anonima) album in studio per la mezzo-soprano oggi 46enne di origini canadesi, arriva a otto anni dal precedente Havoc and Bright Lights, ed è un disco che musicalmente dice molto poco (sono contento di vedere che al The Guardian la pensano come me), un rock molto levigato e con una preponderanza di ballate, anche piacevoli, ma che ci ricorda quanto siano belle e importanti le sue liriche: davvero notevoli.
