Eccoci finalmente a parlare della band di New York City, Imperial Triumphant, fondata da Zachary Ilya Ezrin, chitarra e voce, attualmente coadiuvato da Kenny Grohowski alla batteria, e da Steve Blanco al basso, tastiere e voce. Musicisti dalla tecnica incredibile, volendo semplificare, "applicano" la jazz fusion al black metal. Un po' come mettere nel frullatore Meshuggah, Behemoth, Mr. Bungle e Miles Davis. Un disco, il loro quarto album in studio, dai toni cupi e dall'impatto spiazzante, ma talmente stratificato da lasciare l'ascoltatore esterrefatto. Sicuramente non per tutti i palati, ma che bellezza!
Here we are finally talking about the New York City band, Imperial Triumphant, founded by Zachary Ilya Ezrin, guitar and vocals, currently assisted by Kenny Grohowski on drums, and by Steve Blanco on bass, keyboards and vocals. Musicians with an incredible technique, that, if we want to simplify, they "applies" jazz fusion to black metal. Kind of like putting Meshuggah, Behemoth, Mr. Bungle and Miles Davis in the blender. A record, their fourth studio album, with dark tones and a surprising impact, but so layered as to leave the listener astonished. Certainly not for all palates, but hell, what a beauty!
