Il quarto album della band di Brooklyn, New York City, capitanata da Zachary Cole Smith (chitarra e voce) si intitola come la metafora divenuta frase gergale, che è entrata nel modo di parlare inglese, soprattutto (per quel che vedo da film e serie TV) statunitense, coniata (ma molti la attribuiscono a Noam Chomsky, vi lascio nel dubbio perché non ho trovato informazioni precise) da Daniel Quinn nel suo romanzo filosofico The Story of B ("Se metti una rana in una pentola piena di acqua bollente, la rana schizza fuori immediatamente; se la metti in una pentola piena di acqua fredda e piano piano alzi la temperatura, la rana si adatta progressivamente al calore e, quando l’acqua diventa bollente, non ha più la forza di reagire e muore", come metafora del capitalismo e dell'atteggiamento consumistico). Quindi, al solito messaggio forte. Veniamo alla musica: rispetto al precedente Deceiver, (molto) meno post-grunge e influenze Sonic Youth, più shoegaze. Cantato sempre vellutato, buone composizioni, disco gradevole, ma ancora una volta, molto ripetitivo.

So, the usual strong message. Let's get to the music: compared to the previous Deceiver, (much) less post-grunge and Sonic Youth influences, more shoegaze. Always smooth singing, good compositions, pleasant album, but once again, very repetitive.
