Home Video - Lucy Dacus (2021)
Il terzo album per la cantautrice di Richmond, Virginia, è per me il primo, nonostante avessi "fatto la sua conoscenza" con il bel disco delle Boygenius. Ovviamente, essendo appunto molto amica, nonché collaboratrice (si scambiano spesso ospitate), sia di Phoebe Bridgers che di Julien Baker, potete (come ho fatto io immediatamente prima di mettermi all'ascolto) immaginarvi senza troppi sforzi, cosa aspettarvi. Un indie rock tendente al folk, chitarre elettriche ma anche acustiche, ballate ma anche tracce più ritmate, ma tendenzialmente delicate e soffici, e soprattutto, scritte divinamente. Certo, su questo genere, quest'anno ci ha già regalato il bellissimo disco della sua amica Julien Baker, ma pure questo Home Video vi farà trascorrere 45 minuti in bellezza, e probabilmente vi verrà voglia di premere play ancora una volta.
The third album for the singer-songwriter from Richmond, Virginia, is my first, despite having "made her acquaintance" with the beautiful Boygenius record. Obviously, being a very friend, as well as collaborator (they often exchange "favours"), both of Phoebe Bridgers and Julien Baker, you can (as I did immediately before listening to myself) imagine without too much effort, what to expect. An indie rock tending to folk, electric but also acoustic guitars, ballads but also more rhythmic tracks, but tendentially delicate and soft, and above all, divinely written. Of course, on this genre, this year has already given us the beautiful record of her friend Julien Baker, but even this Home Video will make you spend 45 minutes in beauty, and you will probably want to press play once again.
