No pain. The world is a wonderful whisper for those who can listen, if necessary in silence.

Catharsis - Machine Head (2018)

Ninth album for the band of Oakland, California, captained by Robb Flynn, a guy who has personally experienced the blossoming of thrash metal in the famous Bay Area, and has arrived to this day making his music. The disc is, as pointed out by some critics decidedly more careful than me, not too homogeneous; one of the causes is undoubtedly the duration, 74 minutes abundant, admirable if you compare it with some discs of 40 minutes. The style naturally starts not only from the previously mentioned thrash, but also from classic heavy metal, which then incorporates any type of influence, from hip hop to symphonic music. The search for the melody is quite evident, as at the same time that of power, which is put in place by rhythmic groove/djent. Some different tracks, like Behind the Mask, Eulogy, but also the punk rock Bastards, the rest is quite predictable, even if with some peak (Kaleidoscope).
