Come forse saprete, gli Slayer, dopo un lunghissimo tour d'addio, si sono ufficialmente sciolti nel 2019 (ma si sono riformati, pare esclusivamente per due date dal vivo, che avranno luogo nel mese di settembre). Kerry King, uno dei due chitarristi dello storico gruppo thrash metal, nonché fondatore dello stesso nel lontano 1981, si è messo quasi immediatamente subito al lavoro, insieme al batterista Paul Bostaph, già con lui nell'ultima formazione degli stessi Slayer, ma anche con Forbidden, Exodus, Systematic, Testament, e pare abbia scritto materiale per almeno due o tre album. Ha quindi messo insieme una band, formata, oltre che da lui e da Bostaph, da Mark Osegueda dei Death Angel alla voce, Phil Demmel (Vio-lence, Machine Head) all'altra chitarra, Kyle Sanders (Hellyeah; è uno dei due fratelli del più famoso Troy Sanders, bassista dei Mastodon) al basso, ed ha registrato questo From Hell I Rise, uscito lo scorso venerdì. Indovinate un po'? Sembra un disco degli Slayer. Ottimi i suoni.
As you may know, Slayer, after a very long farewell tour, officially disbanded in 2019 (but reformed, apparently exclusively for two live dates, which will take place in September). Kerry King, one of the two guitarists of the historic thrash metal group, as well as its founder way back in 1981, got to work almost immediately, together with the drummer Paul Bostaph, already with him in the last lineup of Slayer themselves, but also with Forbidden, Exodus, Systematic, Testament, and it seems he wrote material for at least two or three albums. He then put together a band, formed not only by him and Bostaph, but also by Mark Osegueda of Death Angel on vocals, Phil Demmel (Vio-lence, Machine Head) on the other guitar, Kyle Sanders (Hellyeah; he is one of the two brothers of the more famous Troy Sanders, bassist of Mastodon) on bass, and recorded this From Hell I Rise, released last Friday. Guess what? It sounds like a Slayer record. Excellent sounds.
