Il sesto album per l'anarchica (anche filosoficamente) band proveniente da Baton Rouge, Louisiana, è l'ennesimo macigno monolitico, pesantissimo, che mescola sludge, doom e post-hardcore, affascinante sin dalla elegantissima copertina. Sono 50 minuti scarsi di adrenalina rilasciata lentamente, ma assolutamente necessari. Il loro suono inconfondibile mi basta e avanza per crogiolarmi dentro questo Umbilical, e preferirlo a molti altri album del 2024. Una macchina da guerra inarrestabile.
The sixth album for the anarchic (also philosophically) band from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is yet another monolithic, very heavy boulder, which mixes sludge, doom and post-hardcore, fascinating right from the elegant cover. It's barely 50 minutes of slowly released adrenaline, but absolutely necessary. Their unmistakable sound is enough for me to bask in this Umbilical, and prefer it to many other albums of 2024. An unstoppable war machine.
