Bleed the Future - Archspire (2021)

Today we talk about the fourth album of the Canadian band from Vancouver, British Columbia. Band formed in 2007 and which, apart from an initial change of singer, still retains four out of five elements, compared to its beginnings (let's say that the Achilles heel is the bassist, changed three times, the first for health reasons) . The band is the author of a technical death metal of what I like to define as suffocating, but giving the adjective a positive meaning. Sung in a very dark growl, very fast tempos alternating with short melodic openings dictated above all by mini guitar solos, perfect instrument work: in this regard, one of the first two curiosities about the band. In 2019, the band made tech news headlines when a duo of programmers called Dadabots created a neural network trained on Archspire's music to produce a non-stop stream of technical death metal based on the band's music; Dadabots also noted that Archspire's music produced the most consistent AI results, presumably because of the high tempo and technical machine-like nature of the songs. Archspire themselves also commented on the phenomenon, jokingly referring to themselves as robots. The second is that two members of the band, singer Oliver Rae Aleron (aka Oli Peters) and drummer Spencer Prewett, appeared in a cameo on the TV series See; all because of Jason Momoa, star of the series and fan of the band, who among other things was a student of Aleron for some war cries he used in the series. Curiosity aside, an impressive record on a technical level that leaves you breathless.
