Amazing Things - Don Broco (2021)
Eccoci oggi al quarto album per la band inglese di Bedford, dal titolo pienamente ottimista, Amazing Things. Non posso che confermare quello che dissi tre anni fa, in occasione del loro disco precedente Technology, e giusto per approfondire un po', c'è da dire che se da una parte potremmo incasellarli con l'etichetta di nu metal revival, dall'altra sarebbe leggermente ingiusto, perché i Don Broco, con un'attitudine decisamente orecchiabile ma estremamente simpatica, e delle liriche non stupide anche se non seriose, cercano anche a livello musicale di andare oltre, pescando dall'elettronica, dall'arena rock, dall'hip hop e perfino dall'RNB. Il risultato è un disco di dodici tracce davvero fighe, e devo dire che condivido l'analisi di Wall of Sound (Ebony Story) che dice di questo album "tracce che hanno attitudine, spavalderia, sex appeal, sfacciataggine e giocosità e lo fanno sentire senza sforzo".
Here we are today on the fourth album for the English band from Bedford, with the fully optimistic title, Amazing Things. I can only confirm what I said three years ago, on the occasion of their previous record Technology, and just to deepen a bit, it must be said that if on the one hand we pigeonhole them with the nu metal revival label, on the other it would be slightly unfair, because the Don Broco, with a decidedly catchy but extremely nice attitude, and some lyrics that are not stupid even if not serious, also try to go further on a musical level, fishing from electronics, from the rock arena , from hip hop and even RNB. The result is a really cool twelve-track record, and I have to say that I agree with Wall of Sound's (Ebony Story) analysis which says about this album "tracks that have attitude, swagger, sex appeal, cheekiness and playfulness and make it sound effortless".
