WoduridaR - Helheim (2021)
Credeteci o no, questo è il tredicesimo album per la band norvegese di Bergen (contando anche i miniCD), formata nel 1992. Black metal, appunto, alla norvegese, molto lo-fi, volutamente grezzo e registrato un po' come capita, con tematiche vichinghe. Molto spazio ai rallentamenti e a momenti più d'atmosfera, che a tratti sfociano perfino nel folk. Non c'è solo quello, ovviamente, e nel complesso, il disco risulta interessante, se all'ascoltatore non dispiace questo sottogenere. C'è epicità, cattiveria, aggressività, oscurità, classico heavy metal ma incattivito, molta melodia, un fondo malinconico di tristezza, variazioni di ritmo all'interno delle tracce. Davvero una sorpresa, per me che mi ci avvicino solo adesso.
Believe it or not, this is the thirteenth album for the Norwegian band from Bergen (including miniCDs), formed in 1992. Norwegian black metal, very lo-fi, deliberately raw and recorded a bit like it happens, with Viking themes. Much space for slowdowns and more atmospheric moments, which at times even lead to folk. There is not only that, of course, and overall, the record is interesting, if the listener does not mind this subgenre. There is epicness, nastiness, aggression, darkness, classic heavy metal but rough, nasty and angry, a lot of melody, a melancholy background of sadness, variations of rhythm within the tracks. Really a surprise, for me that I am only approaching them now for the first time.
