Radical - Every Time I Die (2021)

I begin these lines with the usual excuses for never having heard before the band in question, coming from Buffalo, New York, active since 1998, first album (Last Night in Town) in 2011, with a core of three elements, the two guitarists Jordan Buckley (lead) and Andy Williams (rhythm) and the singer Keith Buckley (brother of Jordan), always in lineup from 1998 up to now. A band that obviously comes from hardcore, passed trough metalcore with mathcore influences, but which has always included a very long series of influences from the hard rock / heavy metal universe, such as southern, sludge, post-hardcore, screamo, alternative; the album in question is therefore a very powerful disc but totally unsettling due to the lack of reference points. And that's why, together with the fact that the band knows how to grind and write killer riffs, and even catchy choruses (Post-Boredom), and manage to put together in the same track metalcore, sludge, math, doom, stoner and screamo, this record it's really cool.
