Ocean to Ocean - Tori Amos (2021)
A distanza di quattro anni dal precedente Native Invader, arriva il sedicesimo disco in studio di Tori Amos, artista che ho apprezzato moltissimo sin dai suoi esordi, ottima musicista, compositrice, grande voce e autrice di liriche da sempre interessanti. Dopo un po' di convenevoli, andiamo al sodo: dopo le avvisaglie che già si notavano nel disco precedente, bisogna purtroppo prendere atto che, seppur sempre capace di scrivere belle canzoni, l'ispirazione e perché no, la voglia di sperimentare, ormai manchi. Siamo quindi di fronte ad un disco senza gravi difetti, non brutto, ma lontano da quelli che ci hanno fatto innamorare di lei e della sua musica, e accompagnato per lungo tempo.
Four years after the previous Native Invader, the sixteenth studio album of Tori Amos arrives, an artist that I have greatly appreciated since her beginnings, an excellent musician, composer, great voice and author of always interesting lyrics. After a bit of pleasantries, let's get down to business: after the signs that were already noticed in the previous album, unfortunately we must take note that, although always capable of writing beautiful songs, the inspiration and why not, the desire to experiment, is now missing. We are therefore faced with a record without serious defects, not bad, but far from those that made us fall in love with her and her music, and accompanied for a long time.
