Distant Populations - Quicksand (2021)

Quarto disco in 30 anni abbondanti (si formarono nel 1990, ma sono stati sciolti dal 93 al 95, e successivamente dal 99 al 2012), per una band tutt'ora formata da tre dei quattro membri fondatori, senza alcun rimpiazzo, tutti personaggi di una certa esperienza, nell'ambito della musica pesante. Un post-hardcore naturalmente ibridato da tutto questo, nelle undici tracce di questo Distant Populations si possono sentire reminiscenze di Deftones così come quelle dei Fugazi, ma non solo. Una gamma di sfumature talmente diverse e anche lontane, da perdercisi dentro. Disco all'apparenza semplice, ma piuttosto affascinante.

Fourth disc in abundant 30 years (they formed in 1990, but were dissolved from 93 to 95, and subsequently from 99 to 2012), for a band still made up of three of the four founding members, without any replacement, all characters of a certain experience, in the field of heavy music. A post-hardcore naturally hybridized by all this, in the eleven tracks of this Distant Populations you can hear reminiscences of Deftones as well as those of Fugazi, but not only. A range of shades so different and even distant, that you get lost in them. A disc that is apparently simple, but rather fascinating.
