Ormai deciso a spogliarmi di qualsiasi tipo di preconcetto e/o inibizione, quando ho letto, nella lista degli album in uscita, il titolo del ventiduesimo album in studio del celebre, almeno in ambito hard rock/heavy metal, chitarrista svedese, mi sono detto "dai, magari non sarà così doloroso come in passato", e l'ho messo nell'elenco dei dischi di cui parlarvi. Adesso che l'ho ascoltato alcune volte, posso assicurarvi che dagli anni '90, nulla è cambiato. Lars Johan Yngve Lannerbäck, nome poi modificato in Yngwie Johan Malmsteen, nato a Stoccolma (Svezia) nel 1963, amante delle Ferrari, sposato tre volte, un figlio di nome Antonio in onore di Vivaldi, residente a Miami Shores, Florida, è ancora il temibile masturbatore di manici di chitarre elettriche che ricordavo. E' ancora lì che tenta di fondere musica classica, appunto, alla Vivaldi, con l'hard rock classico alla Deep Purple, per di più con suoni fermi agli anni '80 (ascoltate attentamente quello della batteria e del basso). Si, qualche canzone, quelle dove ci risparmia il più possibile le scale classiche per oltre 10 secondi, può pure risultare piacevole, a tratti, ma davvero, riuscire ad ascoltare 56 minuti e 29 secondi senza mai staccare, è veramente un'impresa ardua.
