Hail Satin - Dee Gees (2021)
La storia nasce dalla passione più o meno segreta che Grohl ed i suoi Foo Fighters, così come molti rocker (io per primo), hanno da sempre per i fratelli anglo-australiani Barry, Robin e Maurice Gibb (ma anche per il fratello minore Andy). Si comincia con una cover, e si finisce per "costruirci" un EP composto da cinque cover, quattro dei Bee Gees e una di Andy Gibb (You Should Be Dancing, Night Fever, Tragedy, More Than a Woman, e Shadow Dancing), rimpolpandolo con cinque versioni live di tracce estratte dall'ultimo Foo Fighters. Risultato, versioni live prevedibili, cover praticamente identiche, il che dà veramente poco valore al tutto, al di là del divertimento provato dalla band suonandolo.
The story stems from the more or less secret passion that Grohl and his Foo Fighters, as well as many rockers (me first), have always had for the Anglo-Australian brothers Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb (but also for their younger brother Andy). They started with a cover, and they end up "building" an EP consisting of five covers, four by the Bee Gees and one by Andy Gibb (You Should Be Dancing, Night Fever, Tragedy, More Than a Woman, and Shadow Dancing), fleshing it out with five live versions of tracks from the latest Foo Fighters. Result, predictable live versions, practically identical covers, which gives very little value to the whole, beyond the fun felt by the band playing it.
