L'ex contrabbandiere Chris Farraday vive una vita tranquilla con sua moglie Kate e i loro due figli a New Orleans. Scoprono che il fratello di Kate, Andy, sta contrabbandando droga, ma si è dovuto sbarazzare dell'ultima partita nel fiume Mississippi durante un'ispezione a sorpresa da parte della US Customs and Border Protection. Iniziano i problemi per tutta la famiglia.
Il regista islandese ha chiaramente acquistato fiducia a Hollywood, ed eccolo a dirigere un film d'azione, con un cast di tutto rispetto, che è il remake di Reykjavík-Rotterdam del 2008, dove lui stesso faceva parte del cast. Niente di originale, ma ben fatto.
The Icelandic director has clearly gained confidence in Hollywood, and here he is directing an action film, with a good cast, which is the 2008 remake of Reykjavík-Rotterdam, where he himself was part of the cast. Nothing original, but well done.
