Manic - Wage War (2021)

Quarto album per la band di Ocala, California, che conferma quello che pensavo già ascoltando il loro precedente Pressure del 2019 (ne leggerete tra qualche mese, su questo blog): il loro metalcore è piacevole, senza dubbio, influenzato come ormai è normale dall'elettronica, con una bilanciata alternanza tra voce pulita e urlata, con schemi piuttosto prevedibili, ma belle melodie e ritornelli che coinvolgono. Il problema vero è che in questo campo, gli inglesi Architects sono ormai dei maestri, e secondo me non hanno rivali, e l'ascolto dei Wage War rimanda fin troppo alla band inglese.

Fourth album for the band from Ocala, California, which confirms what I thought already listening to their previous Pressure of 2019 (you will read about it in a few months, on this blog): their metalcore is pleasant, no doubt, influenced as it is now normal nowadays by electronic, with a balanced alternation between clean and harsh voice, with rather predictable patterns, but beautiful melodies and choruses that involve. The real problem is that in this field, the British Architects are now masters, and in my opinion they have no rivals, and listening to Wage War refers too much to the English band.
