Febbre da fantasticare

Fever Daydream - The Black Queen (2016)

That Greg Puciato (voice of The Dillinger Escape Plan) had a distinct melodic taste, we understood it from a long time. After the Killer Be Killed side project, however, I would not have expected something like this one of The Black Queen, which after a couple of singles, in 2016 released this album titled Fever Daydream. Or better, listening to it, I realized that Greg had not only brought melodic openings to DEPs. Along with Joshua Eustis, from Telephone Tel Aviv, and Steven Alexander, a musician friend, they put together a combo inspired by the best Depeche Mode, and that goes toward an ambient that, however, takes into account the song format, and seeks the beauty, into the verse and refrain. Great tracks and a vocal performance to really point out, for a reality that could also be something important, given the DEP decision to take an indefinite iatus.
