All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us - Architects (2016)

Molti pezzi davvero piacevoli ed interessanti (Downfall, Gone With the Wind, Memento Mori).

Seventh album for the Brighton band, of which I talked to them in the occasion of their fourth work, "The Here and Now", continues on the road of the metalcore, influenced by bands perhaps a bit heavier, but in their vision, they take and research constantly melodies, while maintaining a powerful and sharp sound; keyboards are often used and build harmonic rugs, and, let me pass the figurative sense, atmospheric (not in the sense of meteo, naturally). The songs are perhaps a bit too similar to each other, but there is certainly the charm in the melodies they are able to build, and the contrast to the "machine-gun" rhythms does the rest. Many really nice and interesting tracks ("Downfall", "Gone With the Wind", "Memento Mori"). Probably the "nice" definition is not what their fan is expecting by a review, and it is worth pointing out that the mood of the tracks of Architects is certainly something that tends to darkness, but the melodic openings, which we have already mentioned, personally give me pleasure.
The title seems unfortunately a premonition: not even three months after the release of the album, the solo guitarist, lead composer, keyboardist and founding member of the band, Tom Searle, died of skin melanoma after three years of illness. The band suspended their immediate commitments, then resumed them, and at the moment it is unclear if they will continue their activity.
