Al decimo album, la band milanese rimane fedele al suo stile, attualizzandolo e rimanendo una delle realtà metal più importanti del panorama italiano, una delle poche che è riuscita a "farsi un nome" e ad essere apprezzata fuori dai confini peninsulari. Come espresso anche in occasione del precedente Black Anima, sapete che seppur metal, il loro stile non è quello che preferisco, ma è innegabile che ci sappiano fare, e anche questo Sleepless Empire si lascia ascoltare che è un piacere. Se da una parte possiamo notare una certa omologazione nella composizione, dall'altra c'è da sottolineare che la voce di Cristina Scabbia non ha niente da invidiare alle voci femminili, anche pop, pluriosannate, quindi la sua scelta di continuare a suonare metal va riconosciuta come una scelta di "resistenza", e totalmente ammirevole.
On their tenth album, the Milano-based band remains faithful to their style, updating it and remaining one of the most important metal bands on the Italian scene, one of the few that has managed to "make a name for themselves" and be appreciated outside the peninsular borders. As also expressed on the occasion of the previous Black Anima, you know that even though it's metal, their style is not my favorite, but it's undeniable that they know what they're doing, and this Sleepless Empire is also a pleasure to listen to. If on the one hand we can notice a certain homologation in the composition, on the other hand it must be emphasized that Cristina Scabbia's voice has nothing to envy to the female voices, even pop ones, that have been praised many times over, so her choice to continue playing metal must be recognized as a choice of "resistance", and totally admirable.
