Dovrebbe essere il quindicesimo album questo Mother Nature, per quella che Time ha definito "Africa's premier diva", nata Angélique Kpasseloko Hinto Hounsinou Kandjo Manta Zogbin Kidjo a Ouidah, 61 anni fa, giusto quando il Dahomey acquisiva l'indipendenza dalla Francia. Un disco che mostra la capacità della signora di saper scrivere canzoni accattivanti senza allontanarsi dai ritmi africani, ed al tempo stesso di inglobare tutte le svariate influenze che la sua carriera le ha permesso di acquisire, duettando e lavorando con i più grandi. Certo, non è ovviamente il genere con il quale solitamente mi sento casa, ma perché vogliamo negarci qualche occhiata in giro?

A record that shows the lady's ability to know how to write captivating songs without straying from African rhythms, and at the same time to incorporate all the various influences that her career has allowed her to acquire, duetting and working with the greatest. Sure, it's obviously not the genre I usually feel at home with, but why do we want to deny ourselves a few looks around?
