Quarto album per la band di Columbus, Ohio, della quale vi parlai molto brevemente in occasione del concerto degli Architects. Ascoltandoli su disco, ho avuto modo di farmi un'idea un poco più precisa del loro genere, di quello che quantomeno, si propongono. E' vero, come molte band oggigiorno, partono dal metalcore; ma (come detto nell'occasione succitata) lo ibridano con nu metal alla Papa Roach (a lungo andare mi sto rendendo conto che, nonostante molti li snobbino, abbiano influenzato parecchie band più giovani), punk rock e perfino street metal. Quel che ne esce è ovviamente, qualcosa di più "commerciale" del metalcore in sé, magari non è un qualcosa di assolutamente innovativo, ma è, evidentemente, quel che a loro piace. La mia cosiddetta tazza di té sta altrove, ma non me la sento di bocciarli completamente.

Fourth album for the band from Columbus, Ohio, of which I spoke very briefly when I wrote about the Architects concert. Listening to them on record, I was able to get a little more precise idea of their genre, of what at least they propose. It's true, like many bands nowadays, they start from metalcore; but (as mentioned on the aforementioned occasion) they hybridize it with Papa Roach-ish nu metal (in the long run I am realizing that, although many snub them, they have influenced many younger bands), punk rock and even street metal. What comes out of it is obviously something more "commercial" than metalcore itself, maybe it's not something totally innovative, but it's obviously what they like. My so-called cup of tea is elsewhere, but I don't feel like rejecting them completely.
