Disarming Time - A Modern Piano Concerto - Serj Tankian (2021)
Sempre spiazzante, sempre sorprendente, il buon Serj Tankian se ne esce con questo stranissimo EP. Una traccia lunga poco meno di 24 minuti, una sorta di suite per (appunto) piano e tastiere, soprattutto, composta di vari movimenti. Cori simil-ecclesiastici (filtrati con autotune, esperimento suggestivo), ed altre piccole trovate che accompagnano appunto, le variazioni di "umore" della suite in questione. Ognuno impiega il suo tempo come meglio crede, e c'è da dire che Serj non passa mai inosservato quando decide di lavorare sopra un progetto e far uscire qualcosa di nuovo.
Always unsettling, always surprising, the good Serj Tankian comes up with this very strange EP. A track just under 24 minutes long, a sort of suite for (indeed) piano and keyboards, above all, composed of various movements. Ecclesiastical-like choirs (filtered with autotune, suggestive experiment), and other small tricks that accompany the variations of "mood" of the suite in question. Everyone uses his time as he sees fit, and it must be said that Serj never goes unnoticed when he decides to work on a project and bring out something new.
