Hermitage - Moonspell (2021)

Arriva un momento per tutto, ed oggi è arrivato in cui vi parlo dei portoghesi Moonspell. Band formata nel quartiere di Brandoa, nel comune di Amadora, sobborghi di Lisbona, nel lontano 1992, e diventati negli anni una band di spicco nel panorama gothic metal. Qui al loro dodicesimo album, unico membro superstite della formazione originale il cantante Fernando Ribeiro, nome da palcoscenico Langsuyar (tutti i componenti ne hanno uno, al momento manca quello del nuovo batterista), sono autori di un disco senza dubbio di buona fattura, ottima tecnica, molto levigato se posso permettermi questo aggettivo, molto più progressive che gothic, dove il cantato harsh diventa raro a vantaggio di quello clean, tracce spesso abbastanza lunghe, elaborate, molto spazio agli assoli di chitarra con riverberi alla David Gilmour. Insomma, bei riff e ottime costruzioni, non esattamente il mio genere preferito, ma non male. 

There comes a time for everything, and today has come when I tell you about the Portuguese's band Moonspell. Band formed in the Brandoa district, in the municipality of Amadora, a suburb of Lisbon, in 1992, and over the years have become a prominent band in the gothic metal scene. Here on their twelfth album, the only surviving member of the original line-up, the singer Fernando Ribeiro, stage name Langsuyar (all members have one, at the moment the new drummer is missing one for him), they are authors of a record without a doubt of good workmanship, excellent technique, very smooth if I can afford this adjective, much more progressive than gothic, where the harsh vocal becomes rare in favor of the clean one, often quite long, elaborate tracks, a lot of space for guitar solos with David Gilmour reverbs. In short, nice riffs and great constructions, not exactly my favorite genre, but not bad.
