A Tear in the Fabric of Life - Knocked Loose (2021)
Sono passati oltre due anni dal loro secondo album A Different Shade of Blue, e quindi questo EP di formato da sei tracce, uscito un po' all'improvviso, mi fa un grande piacere. Molto bella l'idea di farne un mini film animato, tecnica che, non lo avrei detto, si adatta bene. Ma ricordiamoci anche della musica: i giovani Knocked Loose continuano a pestare durissimo, in un modo che mi piace sempre di più, a dispetto della mia età che galoppa (non per niente, alla prima occasione, se ricordate, sono andato fino a Venezia per vederli), con il loro beatdown hardcore (mi è piaciuta questa definizione, ma è un modo relativamente nuovo per descrivere l'ibrido che deriva dal crust punk, tutto sommato), che sta crescendo, arricchendosi di elementi, sia pur sempre nell'ambito della musica pesante, interessanti. L'ascolto in cuffia rivela un gioiellino di poco più di 20 minuti, che ferisce le orecchie in modo positivo.
It's been over two years since their second album A Different Shade of Blue, and so this six-track EP, which came out a bit suddenly, gives me great pleasure. Very nice the idea of making a mini animated film, a technique that, I would not have said, fits well. But let's also remember the music: the young Knocked Loose continue to push very hard, in a way that I like more and more, despite my galloping age (not for nothing, at the first opportunity, if you remember, I went up to Venice in order to see them), with their beatdown hardcore (I liked this definition, but it's a relatively new way to describe the hybrid that derives from crust punk, all in all), which is growing, enriching itself with interesting elements, albeit still in the heavy music zone. Listening with headphones reveals a jewel of just over 20 minutes, which hurts the ears in a positive way.
