Dimensional Bleed - Holy Fawn (2022)
Secondo album, per la band di Phoenix, Arizona, che, nella produzione, almeno fino ad oggi, ha alternato EP e album. Mentre ascoltavo questo nuovo Dimensional Bleed, riflettevo sul fatto che non è piaciuto troppo a Patrick Lyons di Pitchfork (ma la recensione merita di essere letta, per quanto è elaborata e ricca di riferimenti), mentre l'amico Beach lo considera il suo disco dell'anno. Da buon democristiano, mi colloco in mezzo, trovo il disco buono, e leggermente diverso dal debutto Death Spells; nel loro blackgaze c'è sempre meno black, ma trovo che stiano cercando una strada musicale che li potrebbe avvicinare agli Amenra, ma con una "sofferenza musicale" più intellettuale e meno muscolare.
Second album, for the band from Phoenix, Arizona, which, in its production, at least until today, has alternated EPs and albums. As I listened to this new Dimensional Bleed, I reflected on the fact that Pitchfork's Patrick Lyons didn't like it too much (but the review is worth reading, as elaborate and referenced as it is), while my friend Beach considers it already his album of the year. As a good Christian Democrat, I place myself in the middle, I find the record good, and slightly different from the Death Spells debut; in their blackgaze there is less and less black, but I find that they are looking for a musical path that could bring them closer to Amenra, but with a more intellectual and less muscular "musical suffering".
