Giudizio sintetico: si può perdere (2/5)
Il film è un adattamento del romanzo Away From His Absence di Shez, scrittrice, poetessa e sceneggiatrice israeliana. La storia segue Tami, che ha una relazione tossica e incestuosa con suo padre Moshe, dalla quale non riesce a liberarsi.
A differenza degli altri film della regista isrealiana che sono riuscito a vedere, questo, a dispetto della storia estremamente disturbante, mi è risultato forzatamente scioccante, e concordo con la critica del The Hollywood Reporter, che lo ha descritto "oddly flat" (stranamente piatto). E' vero che il cast fornisce ottime prove, ma secondo me non basta.
Unlike the other films by the female Israeli director I have been able to see, this one, in spite of the extremely disturbing story, was forcibly shocking, and I agree with critics from The Hollywood Reporter, who described it as "oddly flat". It is true that the cast provides excellent evidence, but in my opinion it is not enough.
