Heimdal - Enslaved (2023)
La band norvegese, con il sedicesimo album in studio, prosegue il cammino che li vede impegnati nel raffinare la fusione tra (l'abbiamo detto più volte) il black metal degli esordi e il progressive rock. Anche stavolta le tematiche (e il titolo) si ispirano alla mitologia nordica, il disco contiene sette tracce tra cui la già conosciuta Caravans to the Outer Worlds dall'EP omonimo, che gli stessi considerano una sorta di ponte tra Heimdal e il precedente Utgard.
Ancora una volta ottimo disco, mai banale, che mi ha ricordato più volte i migliori Celtic Frost.
The Norwegian band, with the sixteenth studio album, continues the path that sees them engaged in refining the fusion between (we have said it several times) the early black metal and progressive rock. Once again the themes (and the title) are inspired by Nordic mythology, the disc contains seven tracks including the already known Caravans to the Outer Worlds from the EP of the same name, which they consider a sort of bridge between Heimdal and the previous Utgard. Once again an excellent record, never banal, which reminded me several times of the best Celtic Frost.
